Overview


The Ipas Development Foundation (IDF) is India's largest non-profit organization focused on preventing and managing unwanted pregnancies. The company is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of women by providing access to safe abortion and reproductive health services across the country. IDF has helped over 250,000 women annually, by ensuring that these women have the knowledge and resources needed to make informed decisions about their reproductive health.


Challenges


Ipas wanted to fill several key positions across two different locations. These included a Data Officer, an Officer for Programs and Training, a Communication Specialist, and a Communication Intern. Each of these roles was critical in supporting the organization’s mission of advancing equity, and human rights, and addressing reproductive health challenges across India.


For the Data Officer position, the company sought someone with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of health systems who was capable of managing program data and delivering insights that would drive evidence-based decision-making. The Programs and Training Officers were expected to design and implement impactful health programs, as well as develop training modules that would enhance efficiency and program reach. 


The Communication Specialist and Intern were tasked with advancing Ipas’s outreach and awareness efforts. Their role involved creating compelling communication strategies to engage diverse stakeholders, using both digital and traditional media to highlight key issues around reproductive health and social advocacy.


Strategy


To address Ipas’s need to fill multiple critical roles across two locations, the goal was to attract candidates with both technical expertise and a strong alignment with Ipas’s mission of equity, human rights, and social impact.


We began by leveraging Redrob’s Job Posting feature to broaden Ipas’s visibility across niche job boards and professional communities within the healthcare, non-profit sectors, and data analytics fields. By honing in on these specific platforms, we were able to connect with candidates who not only possessed the necessary skills but were also motivated by Ipas’s core mission.


To streamline the recruitment process, we implemented Redrob’s ATS and automated resume parsing tools, reducing manual sorting by 50%. This allowed the hiring team to focus more on evaluating top-tier candidates, ensuring that project timelines remained on track without compromising the quality of the recruitment process.


Recognizing that cultural alignment was just as important as technical proficiency, we utilized Redrob’s comprehensive assessment tools. Custom tests were developed to measure competencies such as data management, analysis, and program design for the Data Officer and Programs and Training Officers. Meanwhile, for the Communication Specialist and Intern positions, tests focused on content creation and communication strategy. Psychometric testing was also incorporated to assess how well candidates would fit within Ipas’s collaborative and mission-focused environment.


Throughout the process, Redrob’s Kanban Board was used to track candidate progress in real-time. This feature ensured a seamless flow of information, from the initial application to the final interview, allowing Ipas to quickly and efficiently identify the best candidates for each position.
